Cool Runnings for Data Centres

This week Trend will be attending Data Centre World on 15 - 16 MARCH 2017 at the ExCEL, London.

I’m Cathal Murphy, Key Account Manager at Trend Control Systems, and I have just taken over responsibility for the data centre sector.  I really hope that I will get to meet you at Data Centre World this week.

This will be the fifth successive time that Trend has exhibited at DCW and our focus this year will be on highlighting how data centres can benefit significantly from building resilience into their BEMS.

Obviously, ensuring that chillers, boilers, fire detection and suppression systems, lighting controls and computer room air conditioning (CRAC) units are working as intended can prevent downtime and significant cost. A BEMS not only provides users with the necessary information to monitor critical services, but can also activate alarms when set parameters are exceeded.

We’ll be talking to data centre managers about developing a sustainable, long lifecycle solution that also ensures compliance with key performance indicators (KPIs) and helps co-location facilities remain competitive.

And we’ll be talking PUE’s – that’s Power Usage Effectiveness -  and we will demonstrate how an organisation that has business critical systems to protect can do so whilst still delivering the lowest power usage effectiveness (PUE) ratings possible.
